Moreton Bay United scored late to see off a second-half fightback from Northern Fury 3-2 at Brolga Park on Saturday night.

New recruit Stephen Green gave Jets a single goal advantage at half-time before an own goal doubled the advantage after the hour.

Fury fought back through late goals to Jonathon Bagley and Sean Karambasis, however all-time leading PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland goal scorer Royce Brownlie sealed the result for Jets with a goal in the final ten minutes.

Jets controlled much of the first half and almost opened the scoring when Alex Henderson saw a headed effort tipped on to the crossbar by Fury goalkeeper Joe Simons.

Further chances failed to fall the way of the visitors as Brownlie lobbed a finish over the bar and Jackson Hall saw a goal disallowed for offside.

However, fortune favoured Jets for the opener as Simons misjudged a thirty yard strike from Green midway through the half - the goal marking his first goal in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland.

Jets failed to take advantage of half chances as the half closed but successfully stifled Fury at the other end.

Fury sought to exert themselves on the contest more in the second half, however fell further behind after the hour when Hall’s strike deflected off defender Corey Waples.

A quick-fire double from Fury levelled terms with a quarter hour remaining as Bagley and Karambasis both added their names to the scoresheet.

However, Brownlie pounced on a parried save from a Joseph Champness strike in the final ten minutes to ensure Jets retain their spot atop the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland ladder ahead of Brisbane Strikers and Olympic FC.

Northern Fury FC  2 (Jonathon BAGLEY 73, Sean KARAMBASIS 74’)
Moreton Bay United FC  3 (Stephen GREEN 21’, own goal 69’, Royce BROWNLIE 83’)
