Sunshine Coast FC will face a tricky away tie against in-form community club Kawana SC in the Westfield FFA Cup Sunshine Coast Zone Qualifying Round 5.
Fire face the third-tier Sunshine Coast Football Premier Men’s outfit next Tuesday in their first Westfield FFA Cup match of 2015.
The match-up will determine the last team standing in Sunshine Coast Zone Qualifying, and offers Fire the chance to make amends for last year’s shock penalty exit to community club Caloundra FC.
If Fire win against Kawana it will be their first ever win in the Westfield FFA Cup.
Fire have performed above expectations in PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland in 2015 and currently sit fourth in the premiership race with five wins from their opening nine games.
Kawana are also turning heads in local competition this season - sitting top of the table with undefeated eight match run.
Nicknamed Force, Kawana advanced to Round 5 with a 5-1 win over Noosa Lions in the previous round.
Fire maintain friendly ties with Kawana, with the community club’s home ground used as an alternative venue for Fire in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland.
The winner of the match will advance to face the winner of Wide Bay Zone Qualifying between United Park Eagles and United Warriors to be played this Thursday night.
