It was an afternoon of fairly comfortable margins, with wins to Box Hill Hawks, Port Melbourne, North Ballarat and Footscray.
Footscray, North Ballarat and Box Hill Hawks all returned to the winners list after defeats in the previous round, while Port Melbourne went back to back and edged into the top four.

Telling facts: The home side made the best possible start, kicking five unanswered goals to race out to an early 34-point lead. Four first half goals by Nathan Hrovat helped the Bulldogs to set up their early lead which they maintained in the second half.i

Telling facts: A six goal to two final term helped the Hawks to their third win of the season. Four second half goals to Jed Anderson and another solid performance by Alex Woodward sees Box Hill move to second spot.

NORTH BALLARAT d NORTHERN BLUES
Margin: 21 points
Telling facts: North Ballarat kept its unbeaten run at Etihad Stadium intact, having now won four from four at the venue. Today was the first time they did not win a premiership at Etihad after they defeated Northern Blues.

PORT MELBOURNE d CASEY SCORPIONS
Margin: 23 points
Telling facts: Port Melbourne hit the lead 14 minutes into the third term, finishing with seven of the last 10 goals of the game to record back to back wins, and inflict back to back defeats on Casey. Casey’s Jack Watts finished with 24 disposals in his return to the VFL.
