Moreton Bay United attacker Daniel Clark has departed the club after accepting an offer from PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria club Hume City.

Clark has been in outstanding form for Jets this season after moving to Wolter Park following a stint with Brisbane City at the end of last season and previously played for Swedish club MD FF Köping.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder scored four goals in his six appearances for the top-of-the-table Jets so far in 2015, and was a key figure in their undefeated run across both PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland and the Westfield FFA Cup.

Jets coach Adam Piddick wished Clark the best with his new club and said while his departure is a blow, he is confident that he has the depth manage the transition.

“Obviously we are disappointed to lose Clarkey half way through the year, but when there is someone who has taken an opportunity there is room for someone to take that position from within the squad.”

“Obviously it will affect us short-term, but long-term I think we should be alright as we get someone in there confident and working with the other players.”

Clark will link up with former Olympic FC and Brisbane Roar Youth product Jai Ingham at Hume City, who currently sit sixth in PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria.

He is the latest of a raft of PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland talents to be scouted by big-spending Victorian second-tier clubs since the end of last season.

Piddick said he was aware of the interstate interest in players and had taken steps to secure his squad’s key players to prevent further mid-season disruptions.

“For me it’s been a learning curve because none of the boys are on professional contracts (at Moreton Bay United), where other players at some clubs are,” Piddick explained.

“So what we’ve done this week is that the players we really want to keep have re-signed contracts to keep them there for the season.”

“Obviously at the end of the season you are happy to let them go to further their football, but during the season it is tough if you need to bring players in and gel and work on things,” he concluded.

Piddick added that other members of his squad had been contacted by interstate clubs but he was confident in the measures taken by the club to prevent further departures.

Moreton Bay host defending PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Premiers Palm Beach SC this Saturday at Wolter Park. Kick-off is scheduled for 3PM.
