Terri-Amber Carlson netted a debut hattrick as Palm Beach SC Women breezed to a 6-0 win over Moreton Bay United Women at Wolter Park on Saturday.

The New Zealand international opened her account before the break before adding two more after the restart to help Sharks seal their sixth win of the season.

Jets entered the match only hours after announcing coach Lorna Dent had withdrawn from the position due to increased commitments away from the club.

Technical director Salvatore Sottile stepped into the interim coach role but was unable to turn around the hosts fortunes early as Deeanna Thompson made it 1-0 inside 10 minutes, sliding her finish under Renee Rudder.

Carlson was next on the scoresheet with a first in blue in white before the half hour and Laura Sevil extended their advantage to 3-0 just two minutes later.

Jets regrouped to see out the remainder of the half and managed to keep the score down for the first 15 minutes of the second stanza.

They could only quieten Carlson for so long, though, as the prolific scorer in local Gold Coast competitions added a second in the 65th minute, turning home Kiri Dale’s cross from point-blank range.

Thompson returned to centre stage with a shot from the edge of the area improving her season tally to 15 and the scoreline to 5-0, before Carlson was credited with a third when her deflected cross fortuitously looped in to complete a sensational start to her PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland career.

Jets did have one late highlight as Rudder managed to save a penalty from Lauren Brown, keeping the final scoreline to 6-0.

Speaking after the match, Sottile felt he had seen enough from Jets to have confidence in their future.

“I enjoyed it. I saw a lot of effort, they did great especially in the second half which was actually a good performance,” Sottile said.

Sharks coach Gary French was impressed with the performance to match his side’s result.

“We played good football. We knocked it about really well, we built up from the back, so overall the performance was great,” French said.
