It was the afternoon of the away teams with wins to Essendon, Northern Blues, Werribee and Port Melbourne.
While Essendon and Northern Blues held on for comfortable victories, Werribee had to hold off a fast finishing Box Hill, while Williamstown were unable find accuracy with the breeze in the final term to overtake Port Melbourne at the final siren.
Despite recording their first loss of the season, Williamstown retains top spot on the ladder, with Werribee jumping to second and Richmond in third.
