The Ellinbank & District Football League last week selected an extended squad for the 2015 VCFL Worksafe Championship match on Saturday 23rd May at Maryborough against the Maryborough-Castlemaine League. Congratulations to the following players;

The first training session was on Wed 6th May which was predominantly light skills. Upcoming sessions are on Wed 13th May, 6.30pm - Light skills with selection panel to meet followed by
Sun 17th May, 11am - Recovery, final list assessment, squad of 25/26 finalised
Tue 19th May, 6.30pm - Skills, game style and positional work
Thu 21st May, 6.30pm - Skills, dinner, team announced and jumper presentation for those selected in the final 23 to represent the league.
Former AFL StKilda midfielder Austinn Jones now the Director of coaching at Cora Lynn will coach this year’s team. He will be supported by Buln Buln coach Brent Eastwell, Cora Lynn coach Travis Marsham and Bunyip coach Brad Walker.
Interestingly in what some may read as the growing strength of the league 15 players named in the squad are new to the league this year; Tim Higgins, Lachlan Petch, Kris Fletcher, Corey Bevan, Darcy and Tyson Payne, Shaun Marusic, Felix Dunn, Matt Stevens, Jack Griffiths, Chris Urie, Danny and Jason Wells, Jayden Steers and Chris Robinson. Marusic, Jack Griffiths, Chris Urie, Danny and Jason Wells have all returned to the league this year after stints elsewhere.
The EDFL will be out to win its third consecutive victory after thrashing the Alberton league in 2013 and the Mid Gippsland League in 2014.
