The AFL Sydney Round 4 Rising Star nominee is Ben Hawtin of Sydney University.
Ben played all his junior football at Riverview from the age of 16. Ben was a very athletic kid at school and took to AFL with ease. He continued to play through out his senior years at school excelling through his athletic ability.
Ben took 2013 off to travel and played his first year at SUANFC in 2014, where he won a div 2 flag under coach Adam Clark. In 2015 Ben’s pre season set him apart from others and has been rewarded with regular prem div selection.
Ben is a hard working swing man that can play half back / fwd equally well. His ability to win his own ball is a delight to his team mates and his use is extremely efficient. We are excited to see the continued development of Ben into a bonefide senior player at our footy club.
