In the remaining two games of Round 3, Northern Blues recorded their first win of the season, while Casey Scorpions returned to the winners list.
The Blues held on in the dying minutes against Sandringham, with Trevor Barker Beach Oval proving to be the venue for the close encounters in 2015. Round 1 Sandringham claimed victory by a point, but today they were not as lucky, suffering a six-point defeat after a number of missed opportunities in the final term.
Casey moved to second spot on the ladder with a convincing win against Essendon.
