Floreat maintain their unbeaten start
Report by Lenny Fogliani
Floreat remain level on points with Bayswater at the top of the PS4 National Premier Leagues WA after a 2-1 win over Subiaco at E & D Litis Stadium.
Both sides attacked well throughout the first half. Jack Allen came close for Floreat with two good free kicks, while Subiaco looked dangerous on the break.
Floreat lost Blair Govan to a second yellow card on 39 minutes, but still managed to breakthrough on the stroke of half time as Lewis McMahon netted his fourth goal of the season.
Steve Burton then scored on debut in first half added time to put the hosts in a commanding position.
McMahon and Burton continued to cause problems for Subiaco’s defence as Ryan Montgomery reacted sharply to deny them both.
Ludovic Boi ran from half way and put the ball narrowly past the post, before McMahon came close to scoring his second goal of the afternoon.
Floreat were then reduced to nine men when McMahon was dismissed for a second bookable offence and Nathan Diaz pulled one back for Subiaco with a minute to play.
But the hosts held on for the three points that continues their unbeaten start to the season.
