This will be a moving match with a special ANZAC ceremony before the first bounce.
Both teams will be desperate for a win to kick off their 2015 seasons. Look in the past 3 years ago and both Tigers and Souths played off in the 2012 Grand-Final. However these teams are a different outfit to the teams that played on that day. They have been replaced with youth and pace. However the key to this match may be in the form of the old heads around the game.
Jack Wilson has been in sensational form in the early part of the year being named in best and will look to get on the outside to use his pace and burn his opponent. However the barometer of this team is still inspirational skipper Luke Adams who will try to will his team to victory. His attack on the ball is first class and look to get the ball out to the spiritual leader of the Tigers in Michael O’Donoghue Jnr. Souths will need to watch these three closely if they are to come out with the 4 points.
On the other side of the field is the young South Toowoomba bombers who will look to get the ball into the hands of speedster Dylan Newman. He has pace to burn and loves to get into the space and move the ball from defence to the forward 50. Souths fortune may lay in the hands of their 2 oldest players, Keith Webb and Peter Prendergast. They turned back the clock and demonstrated leadership and direction Souths have been missing for a number of years.
This game will be close as both teams are desperate for the 4 points and it could be the battle of the two big men in the centre square. These too young guns have played their whole junior footy against each other and the battle of Tye Hughes and Lachlan Walters will have massive impact on this game. They both love to be physical and will be a feature of this game to watch.
Both teams need the win and will fight desperately to get the points. It will be highly physical and skilled game as both young teams fight for victory while the old heads look to be cool under pressure.
Get down to Rockville Park at 6:30pm for a 7pm kick off.
