Olympic Growing In Confidence

Olympic FC midfielder Darren Gray believes his side is full of confidence after Friday night’s win over Brisbane City lifted them to third on the table.
The 3-1 result was Olympic’s third straight PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland win after a sluggish start to the 2015 campaign.
After controlling much of the contest against their cross-town rivals, Gray said the performance was a reflection of growing confidence for the two time PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Grand Finalists.
“We’re confident now,” Gray said post-match,“We started the season poorly considering how we started in pre-season, but the boys are very confident, training has been good and we’re very happy with how we’re progressing now.”
Gray praised his teammates’ ability to adapt to the home side’s early pressing, but felt they could have seen out the match better with goalkeeper Matt Acton called on to preserve the two-goal lead late in proceedings.
“We allowed them back into the game in the last 20 minutes, City did well there,” he said.
“Overall I think it was good but we need to close out games better,” Gray concluded.
Olympic will concentrate on maintaining their momentum next week when they host the high-flying Brisbane Strikers at Goodwin Park on Friday night.
