BCAFL kicked off it's home and away season this past Saturday with match between the defending Premiers the West Coast Saints and Vancouver Cougars Blue followed by the Burnaby Eagles playing the Delta Bayhawks. Ideal spring conditions at Cresent Park for the first round of the season as the Vancouver Cougars Blue took to the field against the West Coast Saints in the opening match. The Cougars Blue showed that they were going to be a team to be reckonned with this year as they put on a dominant display. If not for some wayward kicking the margin of the victory could have been greater. Cougars Blue 14.9.93 defeat West Coast Saints 9.2.56.
The second match of the day witnessed a tight battle between the Burnaby Eagles and the Delta Bayhawks. The teams battled hard all day with less than a goal separating the two teams at the final siren. The Eagels 9.12.66 came out on top, defeating the Bayhawks 8.9.57
The Cougars Blue have the weekend off next Staurday while at 1:00 p.m. Cougars White take on the Bayhawks who will be looking to bounce back form a disappointing loss. The Burnaby Eagle s take on the West Coast Saints at 3:00 p.m. All games at Cresent Park
