The South Toowoomba Bombers look to soar against the reigning premiers University Cougars in the under 14 match of the round.
The Cougars started the defence of their premiership in fine fashion dominating in round 1 to win by 132 points. They played as a team against the Lions and will be looking to do the same in round 2 against the Bombers. Storm Arnold was best afield for the Cougars kicking 4 goals and never stopped running all day. They will need to be strong in the contest and then look to give to their outside runners in space to hot leading target Callum Banim.
South’s come into the season with high hopes of winning the premiership but it all starts in their first game of the season. They have a powerful midfield led by the aggressive Tyler Debney. He can do the magical with the ball but can give away silly free kicks and won't want them to cost his team the game. The barometer of this team however is Georgie Osborne. She has the ability to crash backs and get the ball out into space. Georgie is very underrated and the Cougars must show her the respect she deserves or you will be punished.
The key matchup will be Storm Arnold up against Tyler Debney. They may not go directly against each other but whichever of these two players and give their smooth movers the ball cleanly and first will go a long way in deciding who will win this match.
This will be a classic game. The defending premiers up against a team that wants to take them down. Get down to Baker St Oval for a 12:30pm start for this great game.
