In the Under 12 match of the round it is the Reigning Premiers University Cougars up against one of the youngest teams in the competition South Toowoomba Bombers.
In round 1 the Cougars were far too strong for the Lions as they ran riot with 15 different goal kickers. South’s defenders will have to stay close to their direct opponents all day. The Cougars play a fast game and their midfield looks to dominate from the first bounce. They will look to push forward as well and kick goals. However they were not scored against last week as their defence is air tight. Look for Lachlan Carmody to have a big say on this game and back up his best on ground performance from round 1.
The Bombers will look to bounce back after losing to Coolaroo by 8 points. Goal kicking would have been the main order at training as they had more scoring shots but missed too many opportunities to take the 4 points. Their midfield has some powerful runners and look for James Packer and Owen Debney to get out into the open and deliver into the forward line. The forwards need to be on their game and kick straight so they can register their first victory for the year.
This game will be a joy to watch get down to Baker street for a 9:30 start to watch the future stars of the game do battle.
