PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF FOR YOUNG DEMON
John Bradaric is the perfect role model for any young footballer to never give up despite having to deal with some hard knocks in his short career.
The 20-year-old could be forgiven if he had given the game away after a serious foot injury in 2013 that forced him to put his career on hold.
Before that he had to deal with being overlooked for an under grand final while in his first season at Shepparton United.
But four years later he is looking to re-pay the faith of the coaching staff headed up by Tim Looby and Brendan vanDerdonk.
"Tim was really keen to get me back to the club and I’m glad to be back," he said.
After playing mostly with the second eighteen, Bradaric was delighted to be in the team for the Good Friday clash against cross-town rival Shepparton.
"It was really good. I played down back on one of the Bears’ key forwards and then went forward where I took a couple of marks and shots on goal," he added.
Bradaric is a product of St Brendan’s Primary School where he started his career.
He spent a season playing fourths in the Murray League for Congupna, but also played with Notre Dame College, with the highlight of his career an under-16 premiership under the watch of Murray Burls.
Congratulations to John on being the Round one nomination for the Goulburn Valley League rising star.
