Souths and University came out on top in their Respective Round 1 games.
Souths hosted the 2014 Runners Up in Coolaroo. Souths played an impressive style of football and even with a 5 man bench for Coolaroo couldn't stop the goals. Souths midfield ran riot with Tom Readon dominating to kick a game high 6 goals as Souths ran away 105 point winners.
Highfields and University played an absoulate cracker off a match. The first quarter belonged to the Cougars as they kicked 3 goals to the Lions 1 major to be up by 15 at the first change. The Lions came out roaring in the second quater kicking 3 off there own and keeping the Cougars to a solitary point. The Lions went into half time up by 3 points. The Cougars came out of the gates hard in the second half and the Lions could do nothing to stop the magical work of Harry Potter as he kicked a game high 3 goals to lead the Cougars to a 30 point victory.
South Burnett forfeited to the Toowoomba Tigers and Dalby had the bye.
