The Brisbane Zone Qualifying Round 5 draw for the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 has delivered two all-PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland match-ups.
The draw guarantees that two PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland clubs will fall at the first hurdle in the knock-out competition, with Brisbane Strikers set to host near-neighbours Brisbane City and Redlands United hosting Olympic FC.
In other matches, PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland league leaders Moreton Bay United drew a home tie against third-tier Trophy Superstore Premier League club Taringa Rovers.
While Western Pride will play away against the winner of Thursday night’s Round 4 match between Trophy Superstore Premier League club Ipswich Knights and fourth-tier Capital One side Moggill.
The tie offers Pride a chance of revenge against local rivals Knights, who eliminated Pride from the competition in 2014.
City, Jets and Redlands were also all eliminated from last year’s Westfield FFA Cup at home against community clubs - Logan Lightning defeating City, Lions FC ousting Jets and local rivals Wolves FC accounting for Redlands.
Both Strikers and Olympic progressed to the national Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 in 2014 and previously faced their impending cup opponents in the league earlier this season.
Strikers defeated City 2-1 at Corporate Travel Management Stadium courtesy of two late goals, while Olympic and Redlands battled to a 1-1 draw at Goodwin Park.
Dates and venues for Brisbane Zone Qualifying Round 5 matches will be confirmed in coming days, with match dates pencilled in for late April and early May.
