The GOTAFE Goulburn Valley Football League clubs last night voted unanimously to film all senior games in season 2015 from a very productive meeting Monday night.
In a history making decision all 108 home and away games as well as all six Finals will be filmed for the very first time in the GOTAFE GVFL.
GOTAFE GVFL Chairman David Roff is excited at the potential this opens up for the league. "This is a step in the right direction professionally for the league and clubs" he said. "In the first instance club will have immediate access to their games for their own feedback and coaching."
"A library will also be created for clubs to access all senior games across the League which will greatly assist the coaching process for feedback and research."
"Not only does this initiative present opportunities for clubs, the league will be able to utilise the footage for various other resources, including the establishment of a Match Review Panel in the future and for the training of umpires."
"This progressive thinking by clubs will also allow the league to promote itself visually through our website and our media partners."
Euroa Coach Nathan Gilliland was asked about his thoughts on the initiative.
"I think is fantastic" Nathan said, "The ability for me as a coach to use the footage for education purposes for our younger players is great".
"Also the ability to provide senior players with a resource which shows how our structures work or break down will be handy too."
Monday night’s meeting also saw clubs presented with their iPads which the GOTAFE GVFL Board has purchased to enable match day administration to be completed quickly and effectively after games, and also utilise the live scoring element on the GOTAFE GVFL Website.
