With a 12 team competition for the first time in 2015, the race for the 5 final spots in the Division Five competition will be hotly contested.
Last years premiers Blacktown have been promoted into Division Four so a new Division Five premier will be decided in 2015.
After a very good home and away season last year earning them the minor premiership, Nor-West were bundled out in straight sets in last years finals series. They will be out for redemption in 2015 and if their first grade side can avoid injuries they will be one of the teams to beat.
Sydney University always have strong depth through the grades and this should continue for their Division Five side in 2015. If their top grades can keep players on the park this will benefit this side and put them in a good position at the end of season.
Penrith were runners up in 2014 and will be looking to go one better in 2015. With their First Grade side picking up a few handy inclusions, the Division Five side should benefit from the increased club depth and should be up near the top of the ladder at the end of the season.
Always strong in the lower grades, UTS will be looking to add more silverware to the cabinet in 2015. With a few established players leaving the club, the Bats will need most players to be available each week if they want to make finals in 2015.
Camden have been a consistent finalist in Division Five over the years but 2015 could be a different story. With the inclusion of a new Camden side in Division Four, the Cats will be fighting with a couple other sides for those last couple of final spots.
A late inclusion into the Division Five competition, Randwick City will be hoping to start well in 2015 to give them the best chance to make finals. They are an unknown quantity but with strong recruiting in the higher grades will be more than competitive.
North Shore, Pennant Hills and UNSW/ES are all in very similar positions. All three team have three sides in higher grades in 2015 and once again will be relying on the performances of these sides to have a chance of making finals. If they can do that, any of these teams can be a surprise packet and push for finals.
After finishing last years Division Five season in last place, Holroyd-Parramatta will be looking to improve on that in 2015. However, they might still be battling to avoid it with them and new Division Five side Balmain tipped to be contenders for the wooden spoon.
