UQFC Women bounced impressively back to form with a dominant 9-1 win over SWQ Thunder Women at Clive Berghofer Stadium on Saturday.
After last week's first defeat of the season to The Gap, Amy Chapman's four-goal haul and a Greta Bodey hattrick ensured UQFC immediately returned to winning ways.
Thunder held their own for much of an even first-half until the drinks break provided the visitors with fresh impetus, opening the scoring almost immediately through the in-form Bodey.
From there the half belonged to Chapman as the former Westfield Matildas player netted twice inside five minutes to undo the hosts' good work.
Linley Archard netted before the break to make it 4-0 at half time, before Chapman sealed her hattrick a few minutes after the restart.
Archard and Chapman again traded goals midway through the second half including a cracking 25-yard strike from the latter.
Thunder 'keeper Jessica Broadfoot managed to keep the scoreline from blowing out to double figures and they even grabbed a consolation thanks to Maddison Frank capitalising on a late free-kick, but two more from Bodey inside the final 10 minutes confirmed the heavy 9-1 win.
UQFC next visit Sunshine Coast FC, while Thunder host Souths United with both teams looking to pick up their first of the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland season.
