Progressive thinking by the GOTAFE Goulburn Valley Football league board has the league and clubs moving into the technological age in season 2015.
The Board made a decision at the March meeting to purchase iPads for each GOTAFE GVFL club to assist in administration duties for volunteers.
As well as providing funding to the initiative, the League also secured a grant on behalf of all clubs to enable the purchase of the iPads.
The GOTAFE GVFL Chairman David Roff acknowledged the initiative as one to reduce the administrative load for club volunteers "the amount of hours volunteers spend to ensure all administration aspects are completed on match day is immense, with many volunteers taking their paperwork home with them to complete."
"The opportunity that having an iPad presents is that all match day administration can be completed straight after the game then the volunteers can enjoy themselves and relax of an evening."
"Another opportunity that presents itself with clubs having access to IPads is live scoring on Match Day. Supporters, fans and general football lovers will this season be able to follow any GOTAFE GVFL game in real time through the GOTAFE GVFL website no matter where they are."
"The ability for the league and club to continually promote the competition through the advent of live scoring will raise the profile of the GOTAFE GVFL not only locally but also outside the region."
"We have supporters of the GOTAFE GVFL all over the country and even internationally so to be able to cater for all the GOTAFE GVFL fans no matter where they are is a step in the right direction"
The iPads will be distributed to all 12 clubs at the next delegates meeting in March.
