The GOTAFE Goulburn Valley Football League Board, Club Presidents and AFL Goulburn Murray held their first collective planning meeting on Sunday afternoon at Kialla Park Community Centre.
The session was the first opportunity for Club Presidents and League officials to get together with AFL Goulburn Murray staff to plan the season ahead and consult with clubs on specific initiatives.
GOTAFE GVFL Chairman David Roff is excited about the League’s immediate future. "The clubs provided excellent feedback to assist in driving the future growth of this competition across many aspects" he noted.
"Initial discussions were based around priorities for the next 12 months and to provide an update on the significant amount of work that has been done behind the scenes to transition the GOTAFE GVFL administration into the RAC over the past few months."
"The second half of the agenda focused on some initiatives for the next three to five years with the role of media and broadcasting in the League a significant discussion point amongst clubs."
"We are also looking to address our strategic direction with a big focus on gaining feedback from all stakeholders, administrators, players, supporters, volunteers, fans and sponsors to assist in driving this process."
"Overall it was a very positive day with excellent feedback provided on a range of issues to assist the Board and staff in work programs over the next year or so."
