Night Series in full swing
Perth’s Ashley Rosindale scored a hat-trick in a comfortable 5-0 win over Sorrento in the opening match of the 2015 Night Series at Dorrien Gardens.
The Perth SC website reported new signing Reece Vittiglia scored the goal of the night, against his former club, with a cracking strike from outside the 18-yard box.
Azzurri coach Taki Nicolaidis said he was happy with side’s first outing.
“All up it was a pretty good first-up performance,” Nicolaidis said.
“We had a lot of possession in the first half but didn’t really create enough opportunities for the amount of possession we had.
“We had a chat about it at half-time, changed some things, and the boys were a lot better in the front third in the second half.”
Inglewood United’s website reported Michael Garcia started his senior coaching tenure on the right note by guiding the club to a 4-2 win over Armadale in sweltering conditions at Litis Stadium.
Balcatta opened their campaign with a 5-3 victory over Subiaco, Stirling Lions defeated 2014 champions Bayswater City 3-1 and Floreat Athena defeated State League side Shamrock Rovers 2-0, while ECU Joondalup went down 2-0 to Cockburn City.
