No Splitting City And Bulldogs
Words: Michael Flynn
Brisbane City battled to 1-1 draw with Capalaba FC in their final match of the BLK Silver Boot at Lions FC Stadium on Wednesday night.
Bulldogs struck early in what proved an even contest of few clear-cut chances, before City levelled terms midway through the second half.
Josh Sherwood opened accounts in the opening minute, dispossessing the City defence before delivering a composed finish.
City replied after the hour via an own goal borne of an extended period of attacking pressure from the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland club.
Bulldogs spurned the chance to steal the points by striking the post from an acute angle late in the second half.
The result sees City out of contention for the knock-out stages of the BLK Silver Boot.
City will further sharpen up ahead of the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2015 opening round with a friendly against cross-town rivals Olympic FC in a fortnight at Corporate Travel Management Stadium.
Brisbane City FC 1 (own goal 67’)
Capalaba FC 1 (Josh SHERWOOD 1’)
