Olympic Hold-Off Apollo

Olympic FC continued their winning start to pre-season with a 4-3 win over Surfers Paradise Apollo at Lex Bell Oval on Sunday.
Olympic shot out to an early lead with goals to Scott Bow and Rhys Meredith inside the opening ten minutes of the contest played over two forty minute halves.
Apollo fought back to level terms through two quick goals to Matt Hilton around the half hour, before Meredith scored his second from the penalty spot immediately prior to the half time break.
Mustafa Jafari combined with Olympic skipper Danny Byrne to restore Olympic’s earlier two-goal margin just prior to the second half drinks break in the hot conditions.
Hilton struck his third for Apollo to reduce the margin to a single goal with five minutes remaining, but the Gold Coast Premier League outfit ultimately proved unable to rein in the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland 2014 Grand Finalists in the final minutes.
In the earlier game, Olympic's Youth Men triumphed 4-0 against Apollo's Senior Reserves side.
Olympic will continue their pre-season preparations in the BLK Silver Boot tournament against Brisbane Premier League side University of Queensland FC at Lions FC Stadium on Tuesday night.
