Pride Overpower Thunder

Western Pride accounted for South West Queensland Thunder 4-2 in their pre-season friendly at Briggs Road Complex on Saturday.
The match wasfirst pre-season hit-out against PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland opposition for both sides and marked Pride's first win since before Christmas.
Joe Duckworth continued his promising pre-season form with a goal in the first minute of the match before Harrison Sawyer doubled the advantage inside 20 minutes in a contest played in stifling conditions.
Pride held their two goal advantage until the 55th minute when an own goal brought Thunder back into the contest.
However, Jay Kitching and Gabriel Haywash both struck inside the next quarter hour for Pride to effectively seal the win.
Harry Scott scored late to pull Thunder back to within two goals, but Pride held on for their first pre-season win since before Christmas.
In the earlier Youth Men match, Pride defeated Thunder 5-2 with Senior Men squad member Cameron Kleinhans netting a double and Chris Scott also getting on the scoresheet.
Pride continue their pre-season preparations against PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland opposition when they face Redlands United next Friday in the BLK Silver Boot tournament at Lions FC Stadium.
Thunder also continue their pre-season in the same tournament when they face Brisbane Premier League outfit Eastern Suburbs next Sunday, also at Lions FC Stadium.
