Palm Beach SC has secured the services of former Australian Schoolboy’s representative Lochlan Reus for the 2015 PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland season.

Reus, 20, is a former Sharks junior and also played with Logan Strikers in the former Queensland State League youth divisions.

For the past two seasons he has plied his trade in PlayStation 4 NPL New South Wales with Marconi Stallions and then South Coast Wolves - making 12 senior appearances and scoring once for the Wollongong-based club in 2014.

The central midfielder previously played in Gold Coast and Queensland representative teams as a teenager before ultimately advancing to the UNder 19 Australian Schoolboy's team to represent his country on tours to both the United Kingdom and Brazil.

Reus said after moving back to the Gold Coast to be closer to his family, he was looking forward to once again playing for his junior club in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland.

“I played from Palm Beach from when I was four through to Under 12’s. I played up a year in my brother’s age group - most of my family has gone through Palm Beach in the juniors,” he explained.

He added, “Palm Beach proved themselves last year and I know they are a good club.”

Reus said his aim for the campaign was to repay the faith shown in him by Grae Piddick as the Sharks coach looks to restrengthen a midfield depleted by the loss of key 2014 performer Troy Ruthven.

“Grae has proven he’s a good coach,” Reus said, “He’s taken a team that wasn’t actually winning and made them win and he did it with the same players.”

“He’s put his faith in me and I have to come in and deliver and make a name for myself again now in Queensland.”

“I want to be one of the strongest midfielders in the comp and do Palm Beach proud,” he concluded.

Reus becomes the fifth new recruit for Sharks, taking the number of confirmed signings to thirteen players for the 2015 season.

In announcing Reus’ signing, Sharks also confirmed a handful of squad memebers  that will not return for the club in the upcoming campaign in Alex Panic, Newie Cobbo, Mitch Robinson and Jack Littlejohn.
