To continue to invest in our female football development, AFL Sydney are pleased to announce a relationship with the GWS Giants that will see the inaugural AFL Sydney Womens Development Program commence in 2015. The Development Program will provide a skills development and fitness testing opportunity for female footballers within the AFL Sydney program and provide targeted training for our players nominating for the AFL Women’s Draft in April 2015.
As outlined earlier in the year, whilst there are no National Championships for women in 2015, NSW/ACT had developed a program that will include 2 inter-league games for AFL Sydney against AFL Canberra and consequently the selection of the inaugural NSW/ACT Womens Team who will play Victoria in a State Game in June in Melbourne.
The program will lead into our campaign against AFL Canberra so anyone interested in being involved in the 2015 representative program should nominate.
Please note that it is expected there will be a small cost per participant for the 4 week Development Program which will be confirmed in the New Year.
Interested players are to complete the nomination form (1-2 minutes) at the following link from where a panel will select 40 participants to be involved in the program. Nominations are to be received by Monday 12th January. In the interim we will be working on appointing a coaching panel to the program.

Please also find attached the 2015 AFL Sydney Talent Calendar. The calendar highlights key leagues dates in line with State and National level events.
2015 will also see a strong investment in female coach development (and coaches of females). Further information on this along with coaching scholarships and conference information will be provided in due course.
