Pride Win Pre-Season Opener

Western Pride opened their pre-season campaign with a 6-2 win over community club Capalaba Bulldogs at John Fredericks Park on Saturday.
Harry Sawyer, recently recruited from Peninsula Power, netted twice for the Ipswich-based PlayStation 4 NPL club, while former UQFC player Joe Duckworth also scored for his new club.
Pride foundation players Jay Kitching and Chris Scott also added their name to the scoresheet for the visitors in addition to an own goal from the hosts.
Bulldogs, who will compete in the 2015 Brisbane Premier League, netted twice in the second half courtesy of Greg Warden and and Liam Choules.
Pride are one of six PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland clubs that will compete in the BLK Silver Boot competition in January as part of their pre-season preparations.
Club sources also confirmed that further friendlies are pencilled in against community clubs Eastern Suburbs, Lions FC and Mitchelton FC for the new year as Pride seek to improve on last year's 12th placed finish in the league.
