For the first time in the NEAFL competition’s history all teams will play each other at least once after the release of the 2015 fixture.
The revised 11-team competition has allowed each team from Darwin, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Canberra to face each other over the course of an 18-round season.
The season will kick off on April 11, 2015, coinciding with Round 2 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season, with the Grand Final to be held on September 19 or 20, during Week 2 of the AFL Finals.
The draw also contains four regional matches in Mackay, Newcastle, Wagga and Alice Springs with five matches to be played on ANZAC Day on Saturday, April 25.
There are 19 confirmed AFL curtain-raisers with the possibility of more when venues are confirmed closer to the start of the season.
National AFL Second Tier Manager Simon Laughton said the fixture allows for a truly unified competition since its inception as a two-conference format in 2011.
“It’s pleasing to see all clubs will play each other for the first time, which shows a continued growth of the NEAFL into an elite second tier competition in Australia,” he said.
“There should be no easy games in 2015 and we are looking forward to a competitive season with condensed 11-team format.”
