Youth Girls footy on the 2015 Calendar for AFLQ Staff

In 2014 the AFL Darling Downs Women's competition increased by an impressive 60% and in 2015 the competition is set to expand even further. In season 2014 alone, AFL Darling Downs had the second largest women's competition in Queensland.

To compliment the AFL Darling Downs Women's competition, AFL Queensland will be expanding the regions female pathway to include Youth Girls footy in 2015.

FUN FACT: 1,400+ girls participated in AFL programs 6 weeks or greater aged 13-17 in 2014 across the Darling Downs.

With logistics still to be worked out, as the Youth Girls competition will be run by AFL Queensland staff and not AFL Darling Downs clubs/league, further information and key dates will be released in early 2015.
