NCAA Information Evening Recap
Our NCAA Information Evening was held last night (Monday 2nd December) and around 140 players, parents, and coaches came to hear from our wonderful guest speakers.
Kirk Penney started us off with video he's sent over to describing how his life changed by going to Wisconsin. His video can be watched here or on Facebook here.
Deputy Headmaster of Westlake Boys' High School Mark Jackson presented key areas of study for athletes to follow from Year 10 onwards. The entire powerpoint can be downloaded at the bottom of this post.
Charlie Bartlett, from PlayAtlantic.com, offered some good advice and you can follow them on Facebook here. Former Westlake Boys' National Champion and stand out player David Clarke also gave great tips about his experience in America.
Kevin Braswell spoke about his great NCAA experiences at the powerhouse Georgetown University Basketball Program which has had NBA Stars such as Allen Iverson, Patrick Ewing, and Roy Hibbert attend. Kevin has recently plied his trade with the NZ Breakers helping to win the clubs first ANBL Championship with some clutch shooting along the way.
