2014 was a big year for our club, forming our partnership with the GWS GIANTS and winning more games than in all our previous seasons combined. We made our first finals series and tried to present our club as fair but strong players with home ground hospitality. We're really looking forward to Season 2015.
Players Player Nasren Wilson
Nasren stepped up this year to the leadership group and was a consistent target up forward with stints in the midfield. She played when sick and injured and always lead well. It's no surprise her peers have afforded her their respect by awarding her their MVP.
Leading Goal Scorer Lael Kassem
Lael kicked goals in most games she played in, often after a dramatic run and bounce from the midfield. Will probably double her score with a more forward focus in 2015.
Rising Star Hayat Ajaj and Wedad Hammoud (tied)
Hayat and Wedad are strong debut players with a desire to learn all about football. Hayat return to playing after badly dislocating her shoulder in her first game and Wedad developed as a strong fullback after learning from some of the best amongst the opposition in the Sydney AFL. Looking forward to seeing both of them progress more in 2015.
Best and fairest Liali K-Hassan
Liali had a slow start to the season and was trailing in the B&F for most of it. She sought advice on her game leading into the second half of the season and responded brilliantly, taking up the challenge of becoming team captain and the midfield example. Her heroics late in the season were the major factor to spearheading us into our first finals campaign, and are best exemplified by her performance in the final against UTS, which she played significantly injured and still managed to make over 20 tackles.
B&F top 5
1. Liali Karra-Hassan
2. Nasren Wilson
3. Nora Ayad
4. Aziza Malas
5. Jasmin Ayad
