Moreton Bay United have announced a further three key signings as new coach Adam Piddick continues building his squad.
Central defender Scott Stewart has been snapped up from community club Bayside United, while Jordan Farina and Matt Zappone have joined Charles Mendy and Matt Capelo in re-signing.
Stewart previously spent time with Brisbane City before making his comeback from a knee injury with Bayside, and is now looking forward to challenging himself in Queensland's premier competition.
"I wanted to test myself more and I got this opportunity through Adam who I played with at City," Stewart said.
"The greatest challenge will be just to play to my full potential, being able to play the game I have been taught - getting the ball, playing smart and playing out from the backline."
Piddick acknowledged last season's defensive problems, which saw the Jets concede the third most goals of any side, and spoke highly of his new recruit as a potential tonic.
"There is no need to hide the defensive frailties of last year so one of my major roles is to strengthen that area," Piddick said.
"When I was playing at Brisbane City, Scott Stewart was a centre-back there and he was sensational until he did his knee.
"I think he's got all of the attributes for a centre-back and to be a player to tighten things up for us at the back."
Regulars Jordan Farina and Matt Zappone, meanwhile, will return to Wolter Park for Piddick's debut season in charge.
The former Brisbane Strikers youth coach has flagged a new role for 22-year-old Farina in 2015.
"I'm looking at playing him in a more attacking role maybe out wide or in behind the strikers," he said.
"Jordan's got loads of potential and if we can get him into the right areas and give him a key role in the team I think it will not only benefit him as a player, but it will benefit Moreton Bay as a club."
Fullback Zappone, the fifth player to sign on in two weeks, was delighted to stay on.
"I'm pretty comfortable at the club. They're a good bunch of boys, it should be another good season and hopefully we can win the competition," the 23-year-old said.
"I love playing at Wolter Park. It's nice and small and we always get a good crowd down."
In other squad news, sources have confirmed midfielder Jared Austin has left Moreton Bay United.
