U13 Success at Mainland Tournament
The Canterbury Boys Red team, coached by Neville Brooker, won the U13 Mainland Tournament in Marlborough over the weekend by defeating the, Tyla Harrison-Hunt Coached Canterbury White team. The Canterbury Boys Black team was placed fourth.
The girls teams coached by Shannon Buckingham and Hayden Isitt managed to take 3rd and 4th places.
Teams came from Nelson, Buller, Westcoast, Mid Canterbury, Nth Canterbury, Sth Canterbury, Canterbury and Marlborough.
The Mainland Tournament is for players from the top of the South Island (BBNZ Zone 5) who were not selected to go to the Nationals for either Canterbury Metro or Canterbury Country. The tournament is designd to help develop the base of talent and particularly the bottom aged players in the group for the future.
