Former Western Suburbs junior and Swans Premiership player Paul Bevan is returning to Wests in 2015 as both a player and assistant coach.
“I’m delighted to be returning to where I played junior football from U14s before going onto the NSW/ACT Rams and Swans” said Paul Bevan.
He added “I’m really looking forward to help guide a promising group of young talent as well as getting involved in coaching.”
Western Suburbs head coach Kevin Eynaud said ”Paul is a great fit for our club as we strive to build on the improvements of the last two years and achieve the holy grail of a premiership which has eluded us since 1996.”
Paul has just returned to Sydney after three years playing in the WAFL as Perth captain as well as being vice-captain of the WA side.
Western Suburbs President Nick Miller said “Paul provides significant experience of playing at the highest levels including playing in a winning AFL grand final team. Paul will add to our leadership team and be a great mentor to our promising junior players.”
In 2014 Western Suburbs finished fifth in Premier Division with its U19s winning the Division 2 premiership and the club finishing 2nd in the club championship. Pre-season starts in November with details to be posted at: http://www.wsafc.net.au/
