Congratulations to all teams competing in todays Go Tafe GVFL Finals, we must also not forget your opponents who without their competiveness your club would not be vying for premiership honors today. On behalf of Administration Officer Melissa WELLS, Publicity Officer Noel HUSSEY, Finance Manager Michelle ADAMS and our Official Go Tafe GVFL photographer Bailey OPIE I thank all club personal for their assistance and co-operation throughout season 2014.
Where will we be in 2015???? Still operating from our home at 24 Dunkirk Avenue, Shepparton or domiciled at the Regional Administration Centre situated at Kialla Park? And more importantly, who will be administering the GVFL? Prior to reading this column, following a proposed GVFL Service Agreement received from Nicholas ROLFE, Chairman AFL Goulburn Murray relevant to the future of the GVFL being forwarded to clubs a GVFL Delegates meeting was held last Wednesday night, September 24th at which Martin GLEESON AFL/VCFL Goulburn Murray Regional Manager was present. The Delegates will no doubt discuss the final document and agreement forward to the League by Martin following discussions between appointed consultant Chris HAZELMAN, GVFL Chairman Trevor POLLARD and Tatura President Denis Flett. (Although I’m not too sure Denis had much impute due to a heavy work load) Chris HAZELMAN together with Trevor and Denis were in general agreement for the proposal from the AFL to be circulated to all GVFL Club, Presidents, Secretaries and Delegates. It was also agreed that Chris produce optional motions (4) to assist Clubs in their deliberations:
OPTIONAL MOTIONS FOR CLUB CONSIDERATION
Option A: Resolve to reject the AFL Goulburn Murray proposal and proceed to advertisement and appointment of an internal General Manager.
Option B: Resolve to agree to AFL Goulburn Murray proposal with the exclusion of the Weekender option and authorize the League Chairman to sign the agreement.
Option C: Resolve to agree to the Goulburn Murray proposal with the inclusion of the Weekender option and authorize the League Chairman to sign the agreement.
Option D: Resolve to take no action at this stage and reconsider the issue at some future time.
As the current General Manager of the GVFL, taking into account that this column is produced before the meeting to be held on September 24, I will be surprised if the decision arrived at by the Delegates attending the meeting doesn’t constitute a motion that reads something like this:
“That due to the limited amount of time available to properly discuss the agreement and optional motions received from Nicholas ROLFEe and Chris HAZELMAN respectively both the proposed agreement and optional motions be discussed fully by GVFL Club Committee Members and a further GVFL club Presidents meeting be held on Wednesday October 14, 2014 at which a decision should be reached”
However, football fans will already be enlightened by the local press by the time they read this column.

The Go Tafe GVFL Chairman Trevor POLLARD, his fellow Board Members and myself including all associated with this great League are excited & thrilled to have Monica CONNOLLY obviously the late Barry CONNOLLY's wife, to toss the Barry CONNOLLY Premiership Medal prior to the Senior game.
