Moreton Bay United has officially opened a new changing room complex at its Brendale base, improving facilities for both PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland and community footballers.

A ceremonial ribbon was cut during Saturday’s combined end-of-season junior presentation day for Jets and community club Albany Creek Excelsior (ACE).

The new building, at South Pine Sports Complex, includes five large changing rooms, showers, toilets and storage facilities and bore a cost of over $200,000.

They will be used by senior and junior players from Jets and ACE during training sessions and on match days.

“It is another milestone in the history of both clubs and we believe our facilities are among the best in the state,” said General Manager Les Moodley.

“We are extremely grateful to our local members of the Queensland Government and Moreton Bay Regional Council for their fantastic support with this project.”

“Without them it would not have happened,” Moodley added.

Helping cut the ribbon were State Member for Everton Tim Mander, State Member for Aspley Tracy Davis and Moreton Bay Regional Council Deputy Mayor Mike Charlton.

The facilities at Brendale no include  nine changing rooms, five pitches, two storage facilities, a club room, physio clinic, viewing balcony, offices, canteen and two bars – a far cry from the shade sail and barbecue which greeted players and supporters 10 years ago.

“As the number of players and standard of football, across all age groups, rises we are working hard to ensure our facilities meet and exceed demand,” said Moodley.
