Grand-Final lesson by University 12's
After claiming the McDonald's Trophy minor premiership for a near perfect home and away season, the University Cougars have gone on to claim the biggest prize on offer the McDonald's Trophy premiership cup.
It was a dominate display by the boys and girls from University running out 8.7 (55) to 1.2 (8) victors over the Highfields Lions.
However, Highfields must hold their heads after roaring into the Grand-Final from third position knocking out Lockyer Valley and the powerhouse South Toowoomba on their way. Thomas Wren was the only Lions goal-scorer in the final but players such as Jayden Lawson, Jack Hall, Theodore Baldock all played very good Grand-Finals but were up against a classy Cougars outfit.
For the Cougars Peltz Medallist Deng Makuach had a good game but it was x-factor Callum Banim that dominated up forward booting 4-majors in a best on ground performance.
Akol Makuach along with Deng Deng was also standouts for the newly crowned Premiers, University.
It was a near perfect season for the number 1 ranked offensive and defensive side in the competition, which stood out all season long, a well-oiled machine.
Callum Banim received the Keith Webb Medal as the player judged best on ground in the 2014 Under 12 McDonald's Trophy Grand-Final.
