Swans V Cougars
Two teams full of absolute stars meet in the 2014 McDonald’s Shield decider, the Swannies had a near perfect home and away season only losing the one match.
University have been nipping at the Swans heals all season and set up an intriguing Under 14 Grand-Final. The Swans bring plenty of form into this contest, with 10 straight wins but will form count for anything after the week off?
University have had an inconsistent last month of footy that includes 1 loss, 1 bye and 2 wins. They will be pleased with the consistency of their game time however.

KEY MATCH UPS
Tom Matthews V Emmanual Fallah: Both stars in their own right and similar type players for their respective sides. These are two players, we expect to go head to head and it should be an epic battle. Both love to push forward and kick goals but also quite defensively sound.
Abdullah Haddad/Andrew Bani-Freeman V Daniel Gillespie/Tyler Peltz: The go to players for each side is another key matchup. All four are very, very good users of the footy and their impact on the contest will be pivotal. University duo of Haddad and Bani-Freeman will need to push forward more than usual as the Swans Gillespie and Peltz love to push forward and kick goals.
Jackson Paynter V Cameron Ferguson: These two players can play key position at either end of the ground or in the middle. They both will be used no doubt all over the paddock, as their respective coaches’ look to get the edge in the tall player department. Interesting to see where these players line up but at some stage will go head to head in the ruck.
THE FINAL SAY
Dalby go into the game as favourites, after another superb season. This is the Swans third consecutive appearance in the Under 14 Grand-Final and has lost the previous two, so could it be third time lucky? However, the Cougars won’t be a pushover and play a good brand of attacking and defensive footy.
