Nor-West half-back David Clinch has claimed the AFL Sydney’s Division Three Best and Fairest award.
Clinch took the lead in Round 7 and never gave it up after that polling 25 votes, 6 votes ahead of Penrith’s Ben Mayer with Luke Bilbe from Pennant Hills a further vote back.
Clinch was voted best on ground by the umpires on 5 occasions and between rounds 12 & 17 he polled 14 votes as the Jets were gaining momentum towards the finals.
Clinch has been a regular at the top of the McFarlane Medal leader board in medal counts finishing Runner-Up in 2013.
A hard at it, attacking half back, Clinch was a member of the Sydney Hill Eagles for four years before changing clubs to Nor-West in 2012.
Nor-West’s last winner of the medal was Aaron Clayden in 2009.
