Macquarie University ruckman, Peter Le Breton has claimed a sensational come-from-behind win in the Division One Best and Fairest vote count.
The 33 year-old veteran had two votes to his name half-way through the season, only to poll 19 votes in the last 10 games.
He wasn’t the leading vote-getter though with Balmain’s Chris Bolt finishing one vote clear on 22 votes but was ineligible after being suspended in Round 13 for two matches.
Minor premiers, Balmain were well-represented in the vote count with Bolt, Brad Plug and Alex O’Dea among the top six vote-getters.
However, it was to be Le Breton’s night as he claimed three votes in the final round to finish a vote ahead of Holroyd-Parramatta’s exciting youngster, Jordan Pidgeon, and Liam Davis from Southern Power- both of whom also polled three votes in Round 18.
Le Breton who notched up his 100th first-grade game in the Preliminary Final against UTS is the Warriors fifth Snow Medal victor and most recent since Brett Harland claimed the honour in 2011.
