Congratulations Rangitoto College!!!!!
Last week Harbour Basketball hosted the zone 1 national qualifying tournament here at the North Shore Events centre.
22 boys and 13 girls teams fought it out over 4 days to claim the top 6 spots which will see them travel to Palmerston North for the Secondary school Nationals to be held from 29thSeptember-4th October.
The girls final between Westlake and Rangitoto was very exciting towards the end of the game.....Rangitot college were down by as many as 20 points at half time but the girls fought hard in the second quarter bringing the score to a draw after regular time. After an exciting 5 minutes of overtime Rangitoto girls came out as the champions...well done girls...a great fight back!!!
The final of the boys games also saw Rangitoto College take on Westlake Boys. A very close game throughout with some exciting,talented basketball taking place.
Rangitoto College once again emerged as Champions!
