Colts Wudinna United v West Coast Hawks
The top two teams on the year here, Magpies finishing top and West Coast Hawks not far behind. On the season, Wudinna United winning the first two, 36 and 19 points, with the West Coast Hawks winning the round three encounter by four points. The second semi final saw the Magpies over running the Hawks in the last quarter, turning a five goal deficit into a five goal win. Up until that point the Hawks held good control of the game.
Since last outing, Magpies will lose key big man Lewis Habermann, heading off overseas. They will have the mercurial Jack Wilkins back from Adelaide.
Hawks were fantastic last week holding off a gallant Bulldogs, Kyle Tucker, Jaxon Galliver and Harmon Baldock all outstanding. Zane Montgomerie is good wherever he plays and they have talented players on every line. Coach Dylan Kelsh has options everywhere and makes moves to good effect. Harry Goosay is a wonderful target up forward. All the young Hawks see their seniors players play at a high level week in and week out, so learn good habits along with an understanding of how to win matches.
Magpies have had a great season, coach Simon Petty is a master tactician. Harry Petty plays everywhere, Ian Jericho a regular A Grade player, Jack Wilkins, Logan Elliott, Sam Buckham and Adam Jericho all win the ball often. Tommy Dupree and Fraser Douglass are dangerous, especially in front of goal. The Magpies are blessed with a talented younger crew and are competitive all the way.
This promises to be a great match, maybe the Magpies by virtue of a week off and home ground, but it will be close
