South Toowoomba Bombers await the winner of the Blackchrome Cup Preliminary Final between the Dalby Swans and Coolaroo.
It will be daunting task to face the reigning premiers but first the Swans and Roos must win before even thinking about next week’s Grand-Final. Both sides match up well against each other; however Dalby are tipped as heavy favourites heading into this clash.
With the likes of Shaye Easton, Danielle Wall, Alison Gaur, Jessica Banks and co the red and white have a lot of fire power.
Easton's contested marking is her key attribute as Bank's leadership, Gaur x-factor around goals and the ferocious attack on the footy by Wall. Though, the navy Roos do have their own weapons that can slice opposition sides apart.
Jade Hose is their absolute gun as is the hard-running Tarina Oates, tough defender Alarha Miller and the silky skilled Shonnie Skehan and Pasfield sisters (Mariah and Jenille).
However the key to each sides success doesn't just rely on those mentioned.
Under the radar players, such as Jessie Henning (Dalby) and Michelle Horsfall (Coolaroo) are consistent contributors for each team and will play pivotal roles in this preliminary final.
Henning is a tall that plays like a small, superb running ability and strong marking overhead along with clean hands. The Swannies star is only 15 but plays like a seasoned campaigner, converting from soccer Henning has adapted to her new adopted sport very quickly.
Horsfall for the Roos has gone under the radar of most and can play in numerous positions. Horsfall is the most consistent player for Coolaroo named in the best players by her coaching staff ahead of the more talked about players like Hose, Oates and co.
The impact of the under the radar players will be important and may be the key to setting up a showdown with South Toowoomba in the Blackchrome Cup decider on Sunday 14th.
This should be one of the most physical and high intensity games the region has seen in the Women's competition. With no next week for the losing side, it is now or nothing.
