The AFL Sydney Women’s Round 16 Rising Star nominee is Shelby Koh from UNSW/ES.
Shelby joined the Stingrays in 2014 having had established herself as an international netballer representing Singapore.
Commencing in Division 2, she soon became a regular inclusion in the division 1 side until early June, when she was sidelined by an ankle injury. She then missed several games while in Singapore training and playing netball.
Shelby returned to Division 1 in round 14. This week in round 15, Shelby dominated the wing in a close game between the Stingrays and Newtown Breakaways.
Shelby has natural speed, an ability to take strong marks and has adapted to the physicality of the sport quickly in her 8 senior games of football. her outstanding performance over the past 2 fixture games, (receiving votes in bests both weeks) she has cemented a position in the Stingrays line-up for the upcoming Division 1 semi final.
