Saints marching into finals
South Burnett have defeated the division 2 reigning premiers by 81-points as the Kingaroy based Saints locked in the all-important home qualifying final.
It was a victory set up on the back of an 12-goal opening half, where the Saints kept the Roo's goal-less in the opening stanza. Adam Bowater again starred booting 5-goals, as the Snow brothers dominated the Roo's at Gold Park.
The win also secures the Saints maiden Minor Premiership title.
South Burnett had 9 individual goal-kickers and flexed their muscles at a ground they had previously struggled to win at. For the navy Roo's Stephen Collins was the standout judged by his coaching staff, as was Cameron Elridge in just his third game of the season.
The loss sees the end of the season for the Roo's who finished in 7th with 3 wins for the year.
The Saints will hit the track running this week, as they prepare to face the University Cougars in the Division 2 qualifying final at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy. The winner will advance straight to the Sunday 14th Grand-Final.
In the weekends other match, Dalby prevailed in a close contest with Highfields getting up by 3-points at their Owen Street Oval.
If this match is anything to go by then this week’s elimination final between the same teams should be an exciting contest. Both clubs are scheduled to play on Sunday at Heritage Oval after the women's qualifying final.
