Wudinna United footballer Izaac Boylan has been selected in the Australian Under 19 Cricket side, coached by Graham Hick and Managed by Greg Chappell. The side will tour Sri Lanka from September.
Izaac is only seventeen and therefore will be a younger player in the side, not that you would guess that looking at his imposing height and build. A tear away and dangerous fast bowler, with a hard hitting batting technique that sees the ball going to all ends of the ground.
He has represented South Australia regularly at junior levels in national competition, most recently in the under 17 and then under 19 state championships last season. He also debuted in senior grade cricket last year. His talent has been long recognised, gaining an invitation to bowl at Australian Test Cricketers in preparing for the last South African tour, where his action and pace is not unlike Morne Morkel.
He has played A Grade football for Wudinna United this year, but has maintained a hectic cricket training regime at the State Cricket Centre.
A big congratulations to Izaac and on behalf of all people in Mid West we wish him the best of luck as he progresses his cricket career,

Commenting on the squad chosen, CA National Talent Manager Greg Chappell said: “We are delighted to tour Sri Lanka and continue our relationship with Sri Lanka Cricket’s development squads.
“This tour to Sri Lanka will be the first time some of our squad have been exposed to sub-continental conditions and will be a great learning opportunity.
“The fast-bowling contingent is an exciting one, with Lain Beckett, Izaac Boylan, David Grant and Jhye Richardson evident of the depth of Australia’s young quick stocks.
Australia’s Under 19 tour to Sri Lanka continues Cricket Australia’s player pathway development program which is designed to test emerging players in a variety of conditions in order to prepare them for similar challenges faced at international level.
The squad will be coached by CA’s High Performance Coach Graeme Hick and John Davison, Cricket Australia’s spin coach, will be assistant coach. Davison spent time in June working with Nathan Lyon, Muthiah Muralidaran and a group of young development players in Sri Lanka as part of the National Cricket Centre Spin Program.
