The AFL Sydney Women’s Round 15 Rising Star nominee is Brooke Ashcroft from Macquarie University.
Brooke Ashcroft is an 18-year-old forward from the Macquarie Uni Warriors who made her senior debut in Round 2 this season.
Brooke arrived at the club from the Mosman Swans and immediately showed great enthusiasm at training and a real willingness to learn.
Despite the tough transition from junior football to Women’s Division One, Brooke has been fearless in her attack on the contest. Her improvement from week to week has been very noticeable and with her game time increasing gradually her confidence has also risen.
Brooke is clearly one of the team favourites and her every on-field move is cheered by the Warrior women. After a break-out game against Balmain in Round 13, she followed it up with another impressive performance against Sydney Uni on Saturday and we could not be happier for young teammate ‘Sparkles’. Brooke thoroughly enjoys her football and always plays with a smile on her face.
Brooke is one of many young stars who have made their mark at Macquarie this season as we look to cement our position in the top flight of Sydney Women’s AFL and we look forward to her continual improvement.
